‘…It’s been a long time…a real long time…’
Been on a big Jurado kick lately…that new reissue of Where Shall You Take Me on double LP is mighty tasty as well (here).
Oh, and it has been a long time for me around this tumblr, this place is a god damn ghost-town. Somebody better fix this shit.

Mark Kozelek and Jimmy LaValle - By The Time That I Awoke
This song has really been doing something for me. Just the combination of Kozelek’s delivery with Jimmy LaValle (The Album Leaf) at the helm of the mellow electro accompaniment. Just good stuff.
At times it is almost slightly awkward with the cadence of the lyrics to the music but it totally works. Even with having to use headphones at times to hear all of Koz’s voice due to his method of sounding completely uninterested with anything involved with singing. ;-)
There will be a vinyl offering in a month or so as well. Keep an eye out here: Caldo Verde Records

New song from Haruko, Come Home. More beautiful ethereal acoustics, which is what I have come to expect from her. Great stuff.
I recommend you grab the free EP ‘Bird in the Snow’ via her Bandcamp page. An incredibly quiet and fragile recording that is a must hear. Click HERE to get it. You can also find her via her website.
Thanks to Vesa over at One Chord To Another for the heads up on this one.

Overseas video for the song “Ghost To Be”.
Got some grainy love for a Will Johnson helmed song. Overseas is a new collaborative effort of David Bazan, Will Johnson, Bubba Kadane, Matt Kadane. The new self-titled album is out a day after my birthday on June 11th. Just sayin’.

My favourite track from Aidan Knight’s most recent album, Small Reveal (see here). Also one of my favourite songs of all last year if I had to say.
Ladies & Gents: Margaret Downe.

Received my copy of J. Tillman’s Minor Works the other day from the good folks at Action Records in Lancashire, UK. And since you brought it up, it is one the best sounding vinyl LPs I have heard in a long time. I may be biased due to the album material, but still…
Just keepin’ you all up to date on recent purchases as I know you want to know such things. I didn’t even realize this album had a vinyl release until about a month ago. To think I call myself a true fan of Tills…

This upcoming Graveface Records Jason Molina tribute is going to be pretty sweet (first teaser track is from Mark Kozelek above). I am not sure ‘sweet’ is the right word due to the nature of the album, but you get what I am saying.
Kozelek, who you may know as Red House Painters or Sun Kil Moon, covers the track ‘It’s Easier Now” and it shows a lot of promise for what is to come from this release. Names like Damien Jurado, Will Johnson, Phil Elverum, John Vanderslice and Jonathan Meiburg are currently on board as well.

Daughter - “Perth” (Bon Iver) vs “Ready For The Floor” (Hot Chip)
I like this song a fair amount I have to say.
Hat tip to Songsfortheday for the heads up on this one.
